So I’ve been away from blogging for a really long time but now I’ve at least moved this one to a new server and set up a couple of others (see links on side). Check the archives, there’s a lot of cool shit!

Often when I go to Wendy’s or some other fast food place there will be something I didn’t like about the experience. Maybe the service was bad or the food cold, etc. What I was thinking was making an app for the iPhone called ‘Complainer’ that had a directory of hundreds of businesses in it arranged by category . What you would do when you had an issue somewhere would be to find the store in the directory, and click ‘complain’. You would then get a page with a text box for your complaint (plus some store specific data entry boxes like ‘store number’, ‘address’, etc.). You simply fill it in, press ‘send’ and a complaint email from you (with your contact info, etc) is sent to the appropriate place for that business. Simple and quick.

Searches by date

You know what I’d like to see google (or some other search engine) do? A huge percentage of my searches are for things like “best dvd player under $100”, “desktop editing software suggestions”, and the like. These are queries that most likely will get the best results from forum or blog posts. When I search for them I get the most popular but what I really want is the one that is the newest (and popular). Many of the ‘most popular’ search results are 2-4 years old and that’s not helpful to me at all when I’m looking to buy something. There needs to be a way to search by date.
